Art on the Lawn will soon be open!!!

Show Director, Nancy Trottier, and Assistant Nora Waddell
We are fast approaching opening day for Art on the Lawn 2014!!!! Our Publicity Committee has covered the Ottawa Valley with posters, our public service announcements start on local radio this week, and our press releases have been flying out to regional media.

Our artisan line-up this year is simply wonderful. We have award winning painters and photographers from Ottawa, gifted potters and fabric artisans from Deep River, and excellent jewelry crafters from Pembroke and Quebec.

CANCELLATION NOTICE PAUL WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE THE JOURNEY-PERSONAL BUSINESS CAME UP THAT HE CAN NOT CHANGE.
Paul Herrera, noted American Lettering Artist, is returning to Deep River to demonstrate slate inscription carving at Art on the Lawn 2014.  Paul has been a lettering arts teacher for over 30 years.

He will be offering a Calligraphic Handwriting Master Class, Tuesday, September 16. Please see this link for more information about the class. You may register online for the class at www.dr-stbarnabas.ca. Look for the registration link on the right hand side of the page.

Many of our exhibitors will be demonstrating during both days of our event.  Art on the Lawn is the perfect time for anyone who is curious about techniques used in fine art and fine craft production to whet their appetite.  We will have demonstrations of pottery making, jewelry making, calligraphy and bookbinding and letter carving in slate. All have indicated they are most willing to talk with visitors about their creative process, so don't hesitate to bring up whatever questions may pop into your head!

This proof press, similar to the one shown here, will use wooden type and metal cuts to reproduce an image that visitors may take home with them for free.

We are still finalizing our Entertainment Schedule, and will post an update here when each slot is filled. If you are interested in performing, we still have slots open on Friday, September 12, so email us at stbarnabasartonthelawn@gmail.com or phone Show Director Nancy Trottier, 613-584-4131.
