Save the Date!!!!! Art on the Lawn September 12-13

Show Director Nancy Trottier, left, and Assistant Show Director Nora Waddell, with the banners and posters!

It is a little over 1 1/2 months away until Art on the Lawn lands in Deep River!!!!! We have put up banners and small signs in town this weekend to catch the eye of the thousands of visitors who will be coming to Deep River for Summerfest. We have also begun sending out press releases to all the local and regional media about our amazing event.

Art on the Lawn is a two day juried fine arts and fine crafts show held every other year on the lawn of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 60 Glendale Avenue, Deep River, ON.  There will be live entertainment each hour the venue is open, as well as demonstrations by artisans of their creative process.

We are very excited this year to have representatives from The Ottawa Press Gang who will be on hand to demonstrate letterpress printing on a Vandercook O1 Proof Press. The Ottawa Press Gang is a group of letterpress artisans and book artisans from the Ottawa Valley who work to keep the craft of letterpress printing alive.

In addition, calligrapher and stone carver Paul Herrera will be joining the show with demonstrations of calligraphy and stone inscription carving. Paul has visited Deep River once before to give a lecture for the St. Barnabas Anglican Church covering the life and times of his teacher and mentor, the late Father Edward Michael Catich.

The Call for Performers has been issued and is available on this website.  We are asking those who would like to perform to either drop the form off at St. Barnabas any Sunday morning from 9:30 a.m. - 12 noon, or mail it to us.  We already have the Saxaphonics, two drumming groups, and individual performers signed up.  There is always room for more!!

SO SAVE THE DATES:
SEPTEMBER 12-13, 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
